Leipsic Man Facing Rape Charge

A Leipsic man will get more time to prepare for his upcoming rape trial. The Lima News reports Putnam County Common Pleas Court Judge Keith Schierloh approved a request from 20-year-old Zachariah Carsteel’s lawyer during a Wednesday hearing. Carsteel’s jury trial is now set for October 2.

The Putnam County grand jury indicted Carsteel on a rape count in June. Investigators say he raped a teenage girl in April.
