County Commissioners Learn More About Separating McComb And Pleasant Township Borders

Earlier this summer McComb asked the Hancock County Commissioners to split the village limits with the boundaries of Pleasant Township. On Thursday, the Commissioners met with other county officials and representatives from the township to talk about the issue. They found out that the township has a lot to lose

Auditor Charity Rauschenberg says the money the township loses doesnt move to McCombs ledger. Rauschenberg says McCombs inside millage would stay the same.

Aside from the loss of revenue, township officials have concerns about what a split could mean for the area fire district.

Commissioner Mark Gazarek says theyll review the numbers and meet with both sides again before making a decision.
